Maxim Salnikov is a Senior Solution Engineer at Microsoft, focused on AI-native developer tools and platforms. He has more than two decades of experience as a developer. Before his current role he worked as a web frontend and full-stack developer and technical lead, and for years he wrote and spoke about Progressive Web Apps, service workers and Workbox. He is a Google Developer Expert in Web Technologies and a Microsoft MVP alumnus.
WebMCP is close to his daily work. He is a co-author of two pages of Chrome's official WebMCP documentation on developer.chrome.com: “Build your user's agentic workflows with WebMCP tools” and “WebMCP best practices”. He is a member of the W3C Web Machine Learning Community Group, the group that incubates and develops the WebMCP specification.
He also maintains open-source tools for the same ecosystem. The webmcp agent skill, which helps coding agents implement and debug WebMCP integrations, is part of the web-ai-skills plugin in his AI-Native Dev plugin marketplace (github.com/webmaxru/ai-native-dev). On 2 November 2026 it was the most-installed skill in that set, with 531 installs on skills.sh. He is the maintainer of agentprose, an MIT-licensed library that makes any blog or CMS readable by AI agents through WebMCP with one script tag.
Maxim is based in Oslo, Norway, and is a tech communities lead. He is the founder of multiple developer conferences, an organiser of Mobile Era, ngVikings, PWA Summit and the Prompt Engineering Conference, and he runs events for some of Norway's largest web, AI and cloud developer communities.
His other book, Reproducible AI Agent Environments, is about engineering reusable agent capabilities and managing them with the Agent Package Manager.
